My garden has been planted, weeded and mulched. Hopefully the fruits of my labor pay off with a nice yield in a short time. Here's some recent pics of our little raised bed.
The entire bed contains: basil, cilantro, rosemary, green zebra tomatoes, grape tomatoes, zucchini, and peppers. I've also planted some marigolds to help with natural pest control and pollination (it should attract our friends the bees and butterflies).
My basil is doing very well... so far we've had two caprese salads off of these tiny plants. I keep thinking about the wonderful pesto we'll be able to make once this basil really takes off!
In the right corner is my zucchini which looks a little leggy and like a weed. I am going to train it to climb the trellis so hopefully it won't take up too much of my garden.
And, finally, here's a pic of my rosemary plant. I've had little success growing (and over-wintering) rosemary in my pots so I am hopeful that this plant grows well in the bed. So far it's alive but we'll see as the days go on...
Your plants are looking very healthy in the photos! So far, all your time and effort seem to have already borne fruit. May you have a healthy harvest in the future! ;)

Thanks! You should see it now (actually I'll post a pic later).. it looks like a jungle but in a good way. I've already harvested a few zucchini and the peppers and cucumbers are starting to bear fruit. It's so much fun to do!

It’s been a few months since then, and I wonder what it looks now. I’m pretty confident that you’ll have a good harvest for Thanksgiving. That will save you a lot from having to buy your ingredients at the grocery. In any case, basil is one of the most versatile plants in your garden because it can be used in almost any recipe.

Is this your first garden venture? Well, I’m seeing good progress. Those marigolds are lovely. Your garden will look terrific with them. Their aroma is fantastic and they’re a good companion for all your plants. Its good scent will keep pests away for as long as three years, so make sure to take good care of them.

Shona, I'll post a pic sometime this weekend. Sadly, we lost a bit of the garden while we were away on vacation. It was just too hot here and without much water the cucumber and zucchini died. I still have peppers, tomatoes, rosemary and basil growing strong which is good. Everything is starting to ripen and tastes really yummy! I especially am looking forward to some pesto with the basil as the crop is very healthy right now. If you have any basil recipes to share, I'd love to see them.. I am always looking for new recipes. Thanks!

Yes, this is my first garden venture and I've really enjoyed watching everything grow. My daughter especially loves going out there to check on the plants. I thought marigolds were annuals? We're in the northeast so I am not sure if they would over-winter. Do you have any tips on how to keep them alive? I think they did wonders for our garden both from a pollination standpoint and a pest control standpoint.
